
Community Scientist
Earners of this badge have demonstrated an understanding of the basic principles of research with human subjects. Participants have completed the web-based human subjects protections training program, CIRTification, tailored specifically to the needs and roles of community research partners. Additionally, participants have attended 5 Community Conversation Sessions, each 1.5 hours in length and taking place weekly for 5 consecutives weeks. Earners of this badge have gained knowledge on competencies related to IRB and Human Subjects Protections, Research Ethics, Clinical Trials, Special Populations, Cultural Diversity in Research, Clinical and Translational Science, and Stakeholder Engagement.

This badge is free and open to any community member interested in being actively engaged in research and in fostering partnerships with Rutgers, Princeton, and NJIT investigators. This badge is issued by the New Jersey Alliance for Clinical and Translational Science (NJ ACTS) and Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.
